Due to restrictions in place within the Urban Growth Boundary and density requirements, it’s very difficult to find acreage properties close to Portland. Now, it’s not completely impossible to find these properties, the small pockets where you can find them are in high demand. The prices for these highly coveted homes typically start at the $1 million price range.
Portland, Oregon areas with acreage homes for sale
- Dunthorpe – Dunthorpe, an area located southwest of Portland, offers large estates on beautiful sprawling properties, all of which are tucked away in wooded, private neighborhoods.
- Northwest Hills – Far up into the Northwest Hills, acreage properties as large as 1-2 acres can be found. This is also a highly desirable area, and the increasingly high prices reflect that demand.
- Northwest Portland – Far west in Northwest Portland lies the Skyline suburbs of PDX, such as Beaverton, Hillsboro and Forest Grove. Each of these suburbs offer great options for small acreage properties extending out to large farms.
- Southeast Portland – On the opposite side of the Portland Metro area, in Southeast Portland there are a handful of suburbs that also offer acreage properties; Oregon City, Canby and Stafford. All three of these areas have both farmland and luxury acreage estates to choose from.
- Yamhill County – The southern suburbs of Yamhill county offer small acreage land too. Here you can find large farms, horse stable properties and vineyards on either rolling hills or flat plains. These Yamhill suburbs include Aurora, Hubbard, Sherwood and Newberg, as well as McMinnville.
